After Hurricane Ian devastated Southwest Florida, I found myself in an unexpected photography role—saving hurricane-damaged photographs. Amid the destruction of thousands of homes, people weren’t just losing belongings; they were losing their most treasured possessions—their photos.
In the months that followed, I volunteered to recover and restore thousands of water-damaged pictures. I witnessed firsthand the heartbreak of lost memories and realized just how many people had never digitized or organized their photo collections.
